Measuring 1 inch (25 millimeters) in diameter, the rod is made of 20-gauge, 1 millimeter-thick stainless steel with a shiny, satin finish. Measuring 1-3/8 inches (35 millimeters) in diameter, the two mounting flanges are positioned at either end of the rod. The gleaming surface of the flanges is genuine chrome, which is electroplated over plastic. The mounting flanges completely cover the aluminum mounting brackets, concealing them from sight.
